Perry Heights is a charming neighborhood of 115 single-family homes within Oak Lawn in Dallas, Texas. The small enclave has architectural integrity, rich Dallas history, and is a friendly, everyone-knows-everyone community. It is tucked away on the shady streets of Rawlins, Hall, and Vandelia ending in Craddock Park. Perry Heights is one of the last single-family neighborhoods in Oak Lawn and is coveted by home buyers, once people find it. Perhaps you stumbled upon it as you took a new route to walk your dog or been caught in its leafy web of cul de sacs. Residents have easy access to downtown and all major highways while living in a quiet, friendly, tight-knit community. The neighborhood enjoys diversity with approximately 42% of the homes GLBT+ owned. The neighborhood has an active neighborhood association with occasional social events and fundraisers.

Developed in 1922 by Dallas businessman, E. Gordon Perry, the neighborhood is home to some of the city’s oldest architecturally distinctive brick homes in Colonial Revival, Georgian mansions, bungalows, and Arts and Crafts Tudors that don’t swallow the woodsy lots. The development limited building homes with only brick, stone, and stucco exteriors. In 2007, Rawlins Street residents designated their 30 homes as a conservation district within Dallas.
